Read This Before I Die - What I am Thankful for in Boston Sports This Year

With Thanksgiving upon us I’d like to take a moment to mention a few things in the world of (mostly Boston) sports that I am thankful for this year:

I’m thankful:

For the Celtics and Bruins - thanks for giving us something to watch during football season.

For my imaginary lifeboat that sailed me off of Mac Island. I tried to like him. I wanted him to be great. But he hasn’t even been good and seems to be getting worse. And I can’t handle the whiny part of his personality. Man up Mac. You can be competitive without being whinier than suburban soccer parents.

For Coach Mazzulla for selectively using his timeouts. When I’m tired at the end of the game, I appreciate the coach’s timeout usage (or lack thereof) - like he’s got to get home and relieve the babysitter. It may not work for the game sometimes, but it gets me to bed earlier.

For the Bruins still being highly watchable without Bergeron and Kreji. The only thing unwatchable about them so far is Pasta’s mustache.

For the Red Sox keeping quiet so far this off-season and making me think they have something big up their sleeve. Even though it’s probably just arm hair.

For my team already clinching the playoffs in the Required Knowledge Fantasy Football League even though I continue to start Najee Harris.

And finally, for no one calling me out for predicting the Patriots would make the playoffs….wow was I wrong.

David Scott is a husband, father, retired police chief and current cancer patient. He has loved the Red Sox since he was a child, even after the 1986 World Series. He loves all things Boston sports, and misses Marcus Smart.#EnoughoftheFluff
